All staff and students official opening day June 22nd 2012.

A warm welcome to you and your child

Star of the Sea Primary School Passage West, Cork was established in 1999 as a result of the amalgamation of the two local primary schools, St. Mary's Convent National School and Scoil Cholmcille. The name Star of the Sea was chosen to honour Our Lady and in recognition of the involvement of the Mercy Order in Passage West and to reflect our maritime location. The design of our school crest is a further illustration of this association.

Star of the Sea Primary School Passage West Cork is a co-educational school with classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. It currently has 406 pupils enrolled. The school has a staff of thirty - Principal, 24 teachers, 4 Special Needs Assistants and a full time Secretary and Caretaker.

The school is under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Cork and Ross. We endeavour in all we do to promote the Catholic ethos but also we welcome children of other faiths and none and we embrace the diversity they bring to our school. Our mission statement is the promotion of the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person; intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual including a living relationship with God and with other people. Our school motto "Tuilltear meas le dícheallacht - Effort earns respect"  was carefully chosen to affirm each child's uniqueness and acknowledge their achievements while also celebrating their successes.

We take great pride here in Star of the Sea Primary School in providing a welcoming, caring, nurturing and safe atmosphere in our school. As Principal of Star of the Sea, I invite you to browse our website and please feel free to contact me should you require any further information.

Yours sincerely
Mrs. Angelique Cashman
