On Thursday the 23rd of May, in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership, children from both 5th and 6th class took part in an aquathlon in Douglas Swimming Pool. The aquathlon aimed to introduce children to a multi-sport event in a supportive, non-competitve environment. The children were required to swim 50m and complete a 400m run.
After the aquathlon, the children participated in the ‘mile a day challenge’. This event was launched by Rob Heffernan and aims to encourage children to exercise regularly.
The children had a fantastic day at the aquathlon.
