1 team from our school, consisting of 8 players from our chess club, were invited to a Ficheall Comórtas after performing so well in the Féile Fichille that we held at our school. Ficheall is the Irish word for chess.
There were 20 other teams from over 13 other schools from around Cork, and our brilliant boys and girls from 5th and 6th class came 3rd over all, which is an amazing achievement for children who have only been playing chess for 2 years in our school.
We were delighted that Mr. Driscoll was able to present the medals at our school assembly!
