6th class have had a busy but exciting start to their final year in primary school. Many of the students have spent September and October representing the school in the Sciath na Scol football competition. It was fantastic to see so many of our class represent the team for the first time. We have been enjoying our GAA training with Passage West GAA every Monday. In Art, we looked at the work of artist Sandra Silberzweig and recreated our own pieces based on her artistic style. We also familiarised ourselves with the Mexican holiday ‘Dia de los Meurtos’ and created colourful skulls. We teamed up with our buddies in 1st class for buddy reading on numerous occasions and we enjoyed the code breaker, shape monster competition, maths games and maths trail during maths week! The highlight of our first term was the annual 6th class cake sale. All money raised was in aid of Marymount University Hospital and Hospice and The Hope Foundation. A great day and full bellies was had by ball!
